Just starting out?
No equipment?
Keep in mind, this is a baseline to get started. You don't need the most expensive equipment. You can find deals on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. Same goes for the camera settings. As with any profession, you will make changes as you improve. Much of which I teach in the course is meant to shorten your learning curve.
Below are some basic recommendations for those just beginning.
Canon EOS M50
This is a crop sensor camera and a good entry-level when starting out in real estate photography.
Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6
If you are using a crop sensor like the Canon EOS M50, this lens is the perfect companion to achieve the correct composition for real estate photography.
Manfrotto Compact Light Aluminum 4- Section Tripod
Another great entry-level product to capture your images on a sturdy piece of equipment.
Camera Settings
This is your baseline. As you get better, you may make some adjustments.
- AEB (Automatic Exposure Bracketing) at least 3 or 5 brackets at 2 stops apart.
- ISO 320
- F- 8.0
- Your shutter speed will change automatically because you are in AEB mode.
- Shoot in jpg.
- Your meter should be set to Evaluative.
- Shoot in Auto White Balance.
Composition
- Make sure your verticle & horizontal lines are correct. Use a bubble leveler on your camera.
- Shoot at chest level.
Staging
- Blinds Open
- Lights On
- Ceiling Fans, T.V., and Computers Off
- Hide the trash cans, pet bowls, and kleenex boxes
